The Church Council met on Monday June 8th. The Council had a long discussion about our church’s current situation. The Council generally agreed our Church and Congregation are experiencing wonderful momentum: Sunday attendance is growing, we are welcoming new members, our Youth Mission trip has more young adults registered than ever before, and there is a great energy and enthusiasm surrounding all the events our church holds. We also recognize our Church is likely to experience our 3rd year in a row with an operating deficit. The Council discussed a number of ways we might reduce our expenses in order to reduce (though not eliminate) our expected deficit for this year. We’ll provide more insight into those discussions at a later date.

Also at the meeting, the Council voted to form an Ad Hoc Fellowship Committee. The committee will meet individually with members of the Congregation to learn more about what individual members think about our Church — both what they appreciate and any concerns or suggestions for improvement they may have. This committee has already been formed and will hold an organizational meeting in July. The goal is to meet with members starting in the late summer and early fall. We encourage all church members to give some thought to these questions prior to their conversation with members of the committee.

Sincerely yours,   Matt Mullen, Church Moderator
